You are my person

Okay, it’s official, I am hooked on drawing my beloved furry friends.  What a great Mix-It-Monthly challenge for ME!  Ryder definitely considers me his person.  No one can be close to me unless he is closer and that includes dad too…..Sometimes when I sit outside and winter sunbathe, he hops through midair it seems and lands squarely on my lap.  Now that isn’t always the most welcome feeling when 38 pounds of dog propels into your lap, but I’ve got to love that sweet face and soggy kisses, wouldn’t you?  Drawn on the leftovers from gelli printing pencil, colored pencils and uni-ball black pen….You are my person…

Remember he only has three legs….but he doesn’t know that.

This is just the sweetest capture of your sweetheart doggy. What would we do without our furry friends? Life sure would be boring if we didn’t have them. xo

Funny thing, our relationship with our pets and theirs with us… Such personalities, so unique and precious… They add so much to our lives… is it any wonder they feel such possessiveness towards us?
We have two Corgis, (Lizzie and Maggie) a Cocker Spaniel named Moo and three house cats; Zoe, Night Fury and Mama. Our house is full, but our hearts are overflowing. Life is good! 😀

I got the feeling that you and this three-legged rascal love each other – am I right? Lovely piece, I wish I could have a dog again, that would be great! Give him a hug from me. Valerie

As I bid adieu to my dog Jake this morning (we will be away for 9 days), I cried and so hoped he would understand and, somehow, know that we would be back for him. So, yes, I totally “get” sloppy kisses, wanting to be a lap dog (when you’re not), and even not knowing that having three legs instead of four is not “normal” for him. Hugs to both you and Ryder this morning, my friend. Mwah! KayW

I love how Ryder has overcome adversity to be so prominent in your life. He is truly special and I can tell you feel such a kinship with him, as he with you.

  19. NancyLee February 8, 2014 at 3:39 pm #

Well, if he’s not the cutest little furry friend.
Does he sit in your lap, too?

  20. Kim Andersen February 8, 2014 at 5:58 pm #

I love the intense state he’s giving you – these are great !

    • Kim Andersen February 8, 2014 at 5:59 pm #

That was “stare” – not state – although he probably does give an intense state too 🙂

They do get us, our pets. I still think Eva’s new kitten uses mind control on me. I am a fool for that kitten, who is a BRAT of a cat.

  22. Alex February 10, 2014 at 4:53 am #

Oh what a cutie! I love his eyes, they look so loving. You must love each other a lot.
    The background is also gorgeous!

    Have a nice week.
