Whir of Activity and an Explosion of Color

This long weekend was a whir of activity
trying to keep some bored teenage
girls happy.  Their vacation had
been pretty quiet, so they were ready
to go.
We had just enough snow and cold
weather to cooperate for some
fast sledding down the hill on
some “flying saucers” as we used
to call them. Careening down the hill
on plastic discs at break neck speed.
Yes, I went too…
Many spills and wet clothes and much
food and of course ice cream later, they
girls fell into exhausted sleep at 8 o’clock.
We were not far behind.
Saturday found us in Boston
making custom perfume at Jay’s
shop for each of the girls and
(yes, another brief trip to Dick
Blick to outfit them with sketch
books, colored pencils and paints)
and a cool book on Manga drawing
which they dove into the minute we
got home.
Today was collage-a-rama day.
We cut, we pasted, we bubble wrap
stamped in an explosion of
red, acid yellow/green and blue.
Here is Shayna’s collage
Here is Brianna’s collage
and here is mine…
Of course a photo of the arty girls thanks to Grandpa
 What a blast we had…
January’s redo to February – more
red and acid green contrast
to bring in the light.
Ink, paint, stamp, collage.
