The past few plus 50F days
have given us a hint of
Spring.The warm air invades
our bones as we walk in the in
the morning convincing us
that winter is over, even though
we know it is not.
It has been a pleasure none the less.
The leaves of lady’s mantle and nettles
spring from the ground, tiny folded
reminders that life is returning to
green and growth. The moss has
red spikes of fire emanating from their
emerald green cushions and the snowdrops
are about to open, their white droplets
a sure harbinger of Spring, just like
the robins who found a worm or two
A birthday treasure came for me
from my film-maker friend Monika,
a shower of silk scraps,
from her years in Japan and possibly
India too. Reminders of another life
for me to weave into my own making.
