Thread Pockets

I have been playing with pockets today.

Thread pockets, sewn with snaps
as fasteners too.  3-d elements
and extensions and not quite so
hidden details.

Enjoying Art Journal Love Letters
with Connie Hozvicka, experiementing
and playing and letting go of
pre-conceived notions about
what kind of making I do and do not
do…doowop doowop

Here is the whole piece

A close-up with details altered to show
texture and stitching of a pocket with a flap
above and some snaps.
Another close up with altered details to see the
thread detail and another snap.
Since we are getting close to the end of February,
I am pondering ways to put these larger pieces together
in an official art journal format and start anew in March,
with crisp blank pages, and pockets and flaps and sewing
and snaps.

That is so cool! Love the colour combo!
Do you have a stash of painted/altered paper and other material that you use for your work, or du you make every thing from the start each time?

Thank you for the sweet words over on my blog 🙂

OMG! Can I be one of your daughters? I mean, I love the work you did with them and I love this page and the pockets. Oh my, I am drooling as i scroll through your blog. I can see I am dangerously close to committing to a 365 project in art journaling, just based upon your rich rich work. (Okay, I'll wait until I finish my self portrait 365 project!)

If you are in New England, will you be attending SQUAM this fall? I am excited to go … and excited to get back east (I grew up in NJ and we spent many years summering on Cape Cod) and see some ponds!

    Happy journaling!

Yummy pockets and pockets and such. I could see a lovely hand-stitched journal with all of these goodies in them. But then, you know me. I like the book format !
    Happy Tuesday !

Pockets are great for all those little bits, you have to have one in every notebook (at least). Yours look great! Oh, Marsh soon? Gosh how did that happen?

I am such a slacker…no pockets for me yet, but will work on them as soon as I'm back home, more like Thursday, but I'm getting there. I did a great page on peace and love-will share when I'm back as well. See you this weekend.
