Tactile Notebooks and the Words with Sandra Brownlee 52 Projects #36

Back from a wander, a journey restful and full of surprises.  Stitched together in a variety of ways.  Some literal and some figurative and some on gossamer in the body/mind. Wind was my deep companion through this week, and a crow, and some chickens.  Black feather, red crop and constant movement of air on the plain, wind landscape. Wind Mother, a totem for my new outdoor studio, a simple table and chair under a shade sail on my deck. Created on my last day to remind me to stay present in the moment, and hear the whispers from the wind.

“Don’t just do something; stand there”  Words shared over and over in the week.

Created with thread balls to form the head and body, buttons for a head dress and strips of cotton fabrics and vintage feed sack for a dress.  It was an extraordinary week and I will share more another day.

Cool effigy. I think I’d feel a bit frightened if I came upon this in the woods, all alone. Glad to hear you are enjoying life. Keep on.

If you sit there with a chair, book and coffee do you stop and talk
    to her?

I simply adore your totem. Now that I am no longer creating art for AJJ, I may just make one of these for my back patio, too. She’s a gem!

I love the look of all that thread on the totem. I too am always reminding myself to stay in the moment.

A beautiful post Corrine, so important to remember that, and to try doing !!! which is far more difficult, I think, dear. I love your angel- that`s my word for her, even her wings are quiet now, hanging there, to watch and remind you.
    Dorthe, xx

Hello Corrine, sounds like an interesting week.
A crow and some chickens – what could be better companions for a week away?
