Studio doings

Designing and stitching imaginary creatures for the holiday fair. Each softie will have a tag so the child who receives it will know it’s their creature to define and name. Imaginary play making is the goal. They also appeal to the big kid in me. And to some of you, who have commented to me.  I’m sure new shapes and features will continue to emerge as I sew.

Taught some middles yesterday (9-13 year olds) at the gallery for a Veteran’s/Armistice day camp. We made collage cut and paste Giving Thanks cards. The kids all got stuck in and had a blast. Another gal taught a still life pumpkin and squash paint. A scavenger hunt on the park rounded out the day. Nice for everyone all around. You can see the canvases live up on the counter and the busy hands at the tables.  Favorite tool? My paper crimper!

Looks like lots of fun in the making by you and all the others!
Hey I’m using some fabric you gifted me ages ago, it was perfect for the project I’m working on. Good thing I held on to it so long. Thanks again.

You’ve been busy, but fun busy I see. Hope all is well. Hubby is improving a little every day, which is all I can hope for. 🙂 Hugs-Erika

Those softie dolls are fun and I like that you encourage the child to name it.

Teaching children that age is fun. I bet they had fun, too. It looks like their cards turned out great and were gift worthy.

These softies are such fun and I love the fabrics you are using.
I’m interested in the first one, it’s chubby and has nicely patterned ears (arials? – maybe it is an extra-terrestial softie?). The two others look like sisters.

I love the variety of fabric on your creatures. It’s will be great for the kids to be able to use their imagination when they play with them. It doesn’t seem that kids have the opportunity to be imaginative like we did.

Love your happy and bright creatures, they will wonderfully make the child create his/hers own best friend, and stories. wouldn`t it be fun for you, to be” a fly on the wall” in one of them houses, they are gifted to a child 🙂
And you all had a great day, with the big kids , such creative joy !!
