Sometimes Being Creative Means Doing Nothing At All

Sometimes being creative means doing nothing at all.  Resting, reading, taking a walk, breathing in the wind, picking up sticks or leaves, or detritus from the ground.  Looking up, looking down – but not at your technology, except to snap a pic or two. Singing to your dog or cat or kids in your best Aretha Franklin voice.  Dancing barefoot around the house or yard. Getting out that hula hoop and twirling away.  Well, it’s not really doing nothing, but it’s not making because you have to.  It’s recess time, renew time, finding the muse again time, which in many ways enhances your ability to reach deep into your gut and follow your path.  Speaking of paths, I put together a little wander gallery for you to wander along with me. No particular order, no particular time.  All photos taken by me.

you could have taken these thoughts right out of my mind. i´m currently just dabbling… and Feeling no Need to start a Project or so. just soak up Inspiration here and there. no pressure.

so often i think how privileged i am that i can PLAY and do not HAVE to make art for an income, which surely can cause pressure…

i enjoyed your photos, like a stroll through your world. thanks.

Great photos, and I am with you. Sometimes you need to recharge your brain, your body, your muse. Right now, more sleep sounds good to me. I need the weekend. First week back from a vacation is always a killer. Hugs.

Thank you for the little views of your world, Corrine, and the view into your mind, which always makes me wonder , and think good thoughts. What you describe is ever so needed sometimes, and especially also when feeling sad ,after a loss . Time without doing anything is vital for our
body and mind to cure, to start new ways of doing ,living and creating.

I am currently struggling. I have SO many obligations and have fallen behind. I don’t like being behind. I’m glad you posted this and led me down a different path today. I suspect I need something similar, and truly appreciate this, but it’s a bit too cold in my house to dance barefoot right now! LOVE the trip down memory lane in your world.

that is so perfectly true… I always feel a bit like that at change of seasons… it seems to invite you to discover the world afresh doesn’t it…

I do like your words, what an idyllic picture it gives. Maybe like Real Life could be before technology came along. “Booking” a day to do all these things sounds like a great idea.
You’ve given us a fascinating mosaic of photos and I examined each one, thanks for that.

Beautiful photos, Corrine! Together they make a lovely mini gallery for me to enjoy as the snow falls (and continues to fall) outside! I also benefited from your “recess” talk and learned a new word! I’ll bet you can guess which one!

There are so many ways to be creative beyond what most people first think about.
    Life is Art isn’t it.
Fun photos with lots of stories to tell dear Corrine!
