So the tree that almost wasn’t

Much to our surprise after a yoga class we arrived home to fine the plug end and more than a foot of lights from our tree in pieces on the ground. I am thankful that I am diligent about leaving everything unplugged while Miss Roxie, also known as Chewbacca, is a most curious puppy.

I deconstructed all the decorations on the tree and decided best not to re-light the tree and use only destructible and recycled decorations. Poms, magazine page cones and pine cones painted white with chalk paint.

It’s not quite finished yet, but it will be as festive as I can make it this year. As for lights, we’ve gone for the Charlie Brown look.

I rather like the simplicity of these above out plant shelf.

Snow fell last night and we ended up with six inches on the ground. There has been a lot of snow play with the four legged today.

Merry making continues at a relaxed pace. Doodles and stitching going on.

Finishing up a gift or two and making time to spend with friends, the most important thing to the season.

Stay warm, drink lots of hot chocolate and be the light!!!

Oh no. Miss Roxie sounds like a playful pup. But it also sounds like she is full of life and joy. 🙂 Sounds like life is good. We got about 3-4 inches of snow and I wonder if winter is here to stay with the news of more snow on Tuesday. Happy new week. Hus-Erika

You need some sea shells from Florida for your tree…!
I envy your snow! And little Miss Roxie had a fun 1st Christmas tree tug-of-war!

I added lights to my little tree for the first time in many years, but then I keep it on top of the china cabinet, well out of 4-legged leaping reach. Yours is adorable! Stay warm and keep that snow up north! 🙂

I can’t buy snow or even rain. Yesterday was 68 F here and the warmest on record ever. Guess that’s why I can’t seem to get in the Christmas spirit. Doesn’t feel like December like YOURS does.

I love the new look to the tree. Roxie sounds like Squiggles who wants to deconstruct my stuffed tree. I think yours is fabulous. And I also like your gorgeous sewing, too. Seems very festive at your home this time of year.

You and your new pup have made me remember Christmases when we had a cat. She would lay under the tree and “guard” it! We had to coax her away so that we could get close enough to put (and retrieve) gifts from under the tree! Great memories! I love the new dressing you have given your tree! I wish you and the Super Hero a blessed Christmas and a joyous new year! Mwah!

Miss Roxie had some fun for sure. Good thing you had unplugged the lights. We don’t have any Christmas decorations this year. Our youngest cat would take down everything. I can’t even let my tea mug unattended as long as the tea is brewing because Cosmo loves to play with the little tag and pulls out the tea bag eventually, LOL.
Your plant shelf is wonderful and your stitching and painting projects are lovely. We don’t have snow but we can see some on the mountains.

I love your simple and yet effective tree, Corinne. This year I choose to put a glass topper on my tree, wrong year!! ‘They’ put it down at four in the morning, my crazy fur gang…:-)
