Painting in Blues, 52 Projects #28 and #29

Painting in blues.  The new show theme is Blue or Clouds(in my case both), so I’ve been making small 8×10 art for the show and also to carry forward for Art in the Park in September.  Projects are drying everywhere in the studio and there is another blue painting in the works too.  I’ve had good luck sticking to this smaller size work, it seems to sell well and I have a couple go to new homes, which makes me happy.  The first piece is Flower in a field of blue.

A simple piece made with collage and various blue on a black background.  The next piece is Cloud rains hearts on the earth, again, collage and paint on a black background.  The sky is actually a really deep blue now but it’s hard to distinguish in the piece.

I popped a border around part of it for instagram, the whole painting is larger but I kept to the square format here.  Hearts are back in my mind, or always in my mind I guess since I found this heart in my paint tray.

A bit of pencil to give it some definition.

Summer truly hit today with a batch of humidity that is pea soupy in nature.  I was out and about at an antique car show with the Superhero for some Father’s Day fun, then made him a nice seafood salad.  He was content.  Now I’m in the studio, in the air conditioning writing this and about to visit all of you.  Hope your week to come brings smiles and heart rain to your part of the world. xox

Cute stuff but I must admit I especially love the heart in the paint tray. Sometimes it is the unexpected heart that speaks the loudest.

I simply adore the texture you created in the flower in a blue field. When I enlarged it, I was super impressed and wanted to touch it.

I’m a huge heart lover, too. Your cloud touched my heart. It’s wonderful. The unique heart in the paint was a pleasant surprise, and I thought it was another masterpiece before I read it was “only” paint.

Glad you had a great day and enjoyed Father’s Day with your husband.

Dear Corrine ,I love your heart from your paint tray, it carries al the tones of love, I think, and the work with flowers and hearts are both speaking volumes , so amazing texture in your flower in blue field.
Here we like to view car antique shows, and second hand , too 🙂 Our fathers day was 2 weeks ago 🙂
A great week ahead, to you, Corrine.

I love the blue background and the collaged flower colors. It has been pretty hot here, but thankfully not humid.

I really love the cloud raining little hearts on the lime green ground. I’d quite like to see the whole piece.
The blue flower is great with the interesting texture. Gorgeous blues.
