Owl Medicine 52 Projects #44

Have you noticed a shift lately in the past few weeks where the need to get rid of things that no longer serve you has showed up?  I have and owls are reinforcing the need to do just that.  Owl Medicine is all about deepest messages from our higher power and our root chakra – the deep inside of use that is closest to our purpose in a soulful way.  I have been hearing owls, seeing owls and dreaming owls.  So why not draw some owls too!  This small girl owl, which my Superhero refers to as a cat-owl(how he sees her), is in my journal as a reminder to listen to those deep intuitive messages that wash over us and pay attention.

She was creating(word slip, or maybe intentional, she was creating in my head) using up leftover paint on the pallet.  I picture her fluffed up and out on a branch somewhere in the trees.  I’ve also been working on a painting which I will share when it’s finished and this stitched piece in progress which will become part of it.

We are definitely getting outer edges of Jose in the form of some steady 25-30 mph wind gust but I think this will be our only interaction.  Feeling so lucky we aren’t in any storms path seeing the horrifying images out of Puerto Rico.  Will be glad when this hurricane season gets out of here.

This owl is beautiful. I can understand your love of them, and she is definitely a beauty. She does look a bit like a cat owl.

I look forward to seeing your next project and the sewing part has me intrigued. So glad you updated us about Jose. I am glad you are not in harm’s way, but this hurricane season is certainly not over yet.

Oh Corrine, I think your super-hero is right, about this adorable owl- – yes a cat-owl 🙂
and yes, strange enough I have had thoughts of “digging out” cleaning up, and throwing out, but haven`t reached to really do anything about, yet !!!
Your sewing looks wonderful, and it will be exiting to see, what you are doing with it on the new painting!
Yes Corrine, the ones of us, living far away from the paths of storms and hurricanes, are truly blessed !!! xoxo

I have a thing for owls. I haven’t painted any for a bit but they’ll come back. I’ve been hearing them a lot lately too, we have a air that live near the house. happy weekend. Enjoy this back step into summer. Hugs-Erika

The little owl is adorable, maybe she is a baby owl?
I’m very interested in your painting with fabric and looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
