Keeping it Simple — Project #5 Raggedy Baggedy Gift Bags

Teenagers, Christmas, what oh what to get them.  Do you have teenagers in your house?  Well, we have two teenage granddaughters who are really hard to buy for, so usually we gift them some moola so they can get what they want.  In an effort to use up my fabric from the wreath and garland, I whipped up two raggedy  baggedy gift bags for the girls to stuff some trinkets into along with the moola, and maybe a sweet or two.  We love those girls so this project is perfect for them, and in fact for all my friends out there…Easy peasy, quick as a lick and uses up the stash, what could be better.

No pattern, just cut a long rectangle, fold in half, sew two opening for the tie leaving it ragged on the ends.  Stitch on some strips, maybe make a flower, right sides together stitch them up and make a raggedy tie to slide through the casing.  Fill with love overflowing, enjoy.

What’s this “whipped up” talk all about? That would mean it’s easy. Seriously, these are the most adorable “raggedy baggedys”. I love fabric like this. How could someone not be happy getting one of these. Especially girls. LOVE.

I just did a back flip over this. Ok… no I didn’t but I did in my mind. Sooooo cute and I have a million scraps for this. I am going to make some. Thanks again Corinne! You are so inspiring!

so cute or sew cute! I may whip one or two up myself. Christmas is coming soon, and Jill has only bought one gift so far…. I think I’m giving a lot of gift cards to my older girls so these bags would be great! We got Eva an iPad with a case ( I made her pay for some of it in the hopes she would take better cars of it..I’m old school, 11 year olds don’t need such expensive toys…I guess I still think it’s 1985!) Now i have to figure out what else an iPad needs..headphones….and…I’m not a shopper!

Those bags are so cute! I’ll send the link to Mr. Sequin — he’s the sewer in our family, and he’s always looking for projects for his fabric scraps.

(I, on the other hand, am still afraid of the sewing machine.)
