Keeping it Simple — Giant Paper Flowers

I’ve been trying to come up with some ways to bling up the outside of the tent for the Vintage Bazaar and I came across this pin on Pinterest which led me here and if you scroll down you will see the newspaper flowers that inspired me. Plus I liked the snappy big band music!  I like the idea of huge paper flowers, I mean big dinnerplate size about a foot in diameter… but of course mine had to be oh so much more COLORFUL.  So I raided my stash of gelli print papers that I made during Carolyn’s gelli class and a whole stack of recycled magazine pages  that I keep on hand for mail art.  Cut teardrops, circles and punched out some flower shapes.  Wonky shapes nothing perfect heaven forbid.  Crunched them up(note the technical artistic term) and punched a hole to attached them all together with a copper brad….Some spray mist, some srpay polyacrylic to hold them a bit, and give them some protection  and voila…GIANT PAPER FLOWERS IN TECHNICOLOR.

Three down, 24 or more to go….that’s alot of crunching.

These are SO you. So much more YOU than the newspaper ones that inspired you. Guess I’d better let you get back to crunching. Time’s a wasting.

This is the icing on the cake.. or should I say “icing on the booth”. i love these… you did an amazing job with them and they say “vintage”.. big time. I did a flower tute with coffee filters also and the centers were polymer clay buttons/beads:

I was just a big art fair near me and I was eyeing the booth set ups. Yours is going to be so inviting compared to so many I saw. And that was before the huge amazing flowers! I bet there are going to be people asking to buy them!
