It’s Always Something

I can still hear Gilda Radner
say “It’s Always Something”,
as her character Roseann Rosannadanna.

Well last night it was our well pump.
It decided to give up the ghost.
This morning the fellows from our
well and pump service arrived , and
luckily, easily replaced the pump and
it only hurt a little, well okay more that
a little, but better than the
prospect of facing a dry well.
It was a water crisis day all around Boston
as a major water main broke that supplied
20 cities and towns including Boston.
People are still boiling water today.

It’s hot here so I spent the day cleaning
ceiling fans and changing their direction to
down for summer cooling and putting screens
in windows to capture the non breeze.
At least we are ready.

I didn’t spend the day in the studio, but I
did start working on my erosion bundles
and here is a sneak peak at part of the
first collage.

These collages will
be subdued for me
but I think it is important
to honor the materials here
and work with what I found
with minimal alteration.
Let them speak for themselves.

More to come.  Happy Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with a muted palette……..xx

    Did you say subdued?!!!

You can do it, I know it. Imagine the freedom of just working with what you actually have in front of you, not having to search high & low, trying to find that little perfect something you know is here somewhere… well, just for this project anyway! I got my bundle up by end of feb so I'll probably take it down end June, better late than never. Might do the Seth Apter one (see my b roll)thru CPS, too.

    Love those textures already!

I'm living without running water for a few days too until our line thaws out from us being gone all winter.
I'm looking forward to getting unpacked and attacking my studio soon.
Thanks for coming by my blog and your comforting comments.

Oh; I loved Gilda Radner and her character Roseanne, Rosannadanna continuously stays in my mind – makes me smile when I need one. Sorry about your well pump; glad it didn't hurt too much – always something for sure. Love the start of your erosion bundle! I've missed a lot here in the past week. xxoo
