Monday is always a banner mail day in our house,
usually because we don’t pick it up at the post office
for a few days, but today, WAHOO…
Three packages arrived just for me.
A couple of blog giveaway wins and
mail from my pal Lyle. Let me show you…
Now you will all probably
recognize the “Good Witch”
from Marilyn and the heart from
Caterina and they are even more fabulous in person than you could
possibly imagine. Not to mention
Lyle and her lastest envie iteration which I just love.
Marilyn’s painting is even more refined than you can
ever imagine from the blog and the hat holds so much
texture, it’s wonderful. I have already found the perfect
spot to view it in our den. She also sent me this little “dream”
piece with a note.
Caterina’s envelope contained bits of lavender
buds so the smell wafted out as soon as I opened it.
Here is a close up of her post card and the heart.
She certainly does make
sacred hearts in all forms.
Lyle, Lyle, Lyle, she always comes up
with an interesting new theme. I think she
shall have to keep the next round, the envelope
itself is getting very heavy.
Antique lettering and oysters anyone? Don’t you just love how this look of
the envelope grabs you and takes you back to another time.
And a crow for this blustery day
calling away. Just perfect.
Some goodies inside including a little bird with beads
and copper wings.
Who needs Christmas with
friends like these.
Some painting play with texture over the weekend.
I used up bits of shredded paper and cereal box woven circles
for a little abstract floral display.
Looks like temps have cooled for everyone all across
the country, except maybe Phoenix, does it ever get
really cold in Phoenix? First lighting of the wood stove
this morning. Earliest lighting of the wood stove ever
since we have lived here, what kind of winter is on
the way? Hope this is not a portent of things to come,
glad the “Good Witch” is here to protect us.
