Herbal Infusion

Tired today after shoveling what
seemed like wet cement although
it was only snow.

Nothing like all you folks in the
Mid-Atlantic, but still no fun
none-the-less.

Not much studio time today,
work and snow kept me away.

Herbal Infusion
gel medium texture, sewn papers
ink and a little stamping.

Colors make me smile though, dark sweet orange,
blue larkspur, saturated turquoise and the tiniest bit
of pink…sigh

Glorious colours! Do you mix them yourself? I took my first acrylic painting class last fall, wanting to learn the technique so I could paint on my quilts. I found it very difficult to get the right colour, but I'm sure practice makes perfect. I really wanted to learn the rules of design too, but I guess I'll just have to keep on making what feels right to me..
