Lis at Dandelion Seeds and Dreams
honored me by including me in 10 blogs
that make her happy list. Happiness 101.
I was reading her post and pondering
happiness and I realize that I have a sheer
abundance of happiness in my life. I am
fortunate and blessed with the following:
A SUPER, sexy husband who facilities the way
for me to be myself and pursue my dreams
in whatever way makes me happy.
(yes that is the UNreal me…)
A grown son, SUN, who is a friend,
a co-worker, idea maker, risk taker
who spurs me on to get out there
and do it.
A BEST FRIEND Linda, who, for more than
thirty years now since college,
has lived, laughed, and cried with me
and me with her through all of life’s
exploits. We both have only son’s
SUNS who light up our lives.
The SMELLS of the world trapped
inside the paws of the dogs whose
journey’s tell of tales unknown and unseen
and who share their soft, furry
smooshy bodies and cuddle with us.
VIRTUAL WORLD friends who
share their REAL lives in private
emails even though
they may be far away, sometimes it
seems as if they are only next door
and will pop in for coffee any minute.
How I wish they could.
The GLUE STICK mojo maker tool.
The PAPER AND PAINT that I get
to play with that helps me to expand
in all ways. BLOOMING
MAGIC in the garden and all the
spirits, sprites, snakes, bees, elves and toads
who keep me company on this sacred land.
ELIXER of water that sits at my front door
teeming with birds, turtles, frogs, fish, muskrats and
beavers whose antics keep me entertained and whose
clean waters keep me cool in the summer and whose
subtle movement provides a meditation every day.
TEACHERS Chris, Connie,
Judy and so many others who
continue to propel me forward
outward and upward on this journey
we call life. And a special happiness hug
to Lisa, my Hayward, CA pal
whose gracious lift in the car
turned into the beginnings of
a lovely, hopefully long term
bi-coastal friendship who asked
me to pay my thank you forward,
which I am trying to do every day.
And two more:
SINGING when I wake up each day
to the dogs, to the air, in the shower,
when I dance wildly in the living room,
to moving sound through the universe.
AGEING because I don’t think I would get
any of this if I wasn’t exactly in this moment
in this time. Maybe some, but not all.
54 and going strong.
I can’t possibly name all the blogs that make
me happy to read there are too many.
Just seeing people putting themselves,
their thoughts, their ideas, their art, their writing,
all of it makes me happy. Thanks again to Lis for
reminding me to see how fortunate I am.
