Friday Affirmations — Stick Your Neck Out

Stick Your Neck Out — be brave, be a fool, be out there, be the whole person you were meant to be…

What can 50 cents and some paint get you…A used canvas on a frame from the thrift store of a still life floral bouquet – ah no before pics…and a whole new canvas as a gift for a friend.  It’s a surprise so  I will wait until she receives it and then share who it was…..

This person is an inspiration to me, a gentle and loving soul who is mindful and thoughtful always.  This piece is kind of tongue in cheek but I thought she would get a kick out of it…

So I am sticking my neck out here to show it to you…be brave, be a fool, be out there, be the whole person you were meant to be.

This is funny, Corrine. I have been going to physical therapy for over a month now FOR MY NECK. Have had pain since Thanksgiving. It has helped quite a bit. Besides electrical stimulation therapy and deep heat ultrasound, I have exercises to do to help strengthen the muscles on the left side of my neck and upper back. This piece of art made me think of that.
I love your attitude, Corrine. Sure wish I lived closer and could have some of your pep rub off on me.
    You go girl!
    Love you. audrey

Lucky you to find such a good value canvas. What a lovely long neck, something I have wished I could have had! I am sure it will be well received.

Corrine! I’m still flying from receiving your awesome canvas! The message it sends me offers such inspiration and I want to fly!!!! I already put your canvas up on my wall in my new art room and the room, itself, holds such loving and caring thoughts; it now is adorned with your creative art! The expression on your girl really touches my heart!

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much! I’m so privileged and honored to have you as my friend!

Thank YOU for YOU! Love you – Mariilyn xxoo

You find the best stuff at the thrift store and then use it in the funnest (yes, it should be a word) ways! I just checked out your class – that description is uplifting- freeing- wow!!!

Super makeover! Love the long neck and her very important message. xx

Your friend will like it…it’s got a great message, too. I like finding previously painted canvases at the thrift shop. A little gesso and I can make it anything I want…and the price is good!

She is awsome and quite regal! I would love such a long and stretchable neck. Mine seems to get shorter as the years go by. Time to stretch!

Love her! Your friend undoubtedly will too. I always love your intense color work.

Oh. to have such a neck as this lovely lady’s! Love this piece, Corrine! Visiting you here always makes me feel a little bolder…a little more positive and excited to push a bit further past my limitations. Have a happy weekend 🙂 xo, janice

I loooove the words! So true! We should all be fearless and let ourselves be silly fools sometimes! I love your girl—she looks like she is having a blast! Great!

You are so fortunate that your canvas was so inexpensive. Our thrift store’s prices have increased over 200% when a new manager took over.

Your lady reminds me of a Modigliani. Great long neck on this gal.

It takes courage to stick your neck our, wish mine was that long!

Great message and I wish I was brave enough to take it to heart! Maybe my personal mantra should be about bravery first, sticking neck out next. 🙂 Love the whimsical but heartfelt painting….just delightful.

Corrine! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! The sentiment and how you related it!!! I’d say that was a good 50 cents because now it is worth a million dollars 🙂

From humble roots comes a magnificent piece of art! You are so very resourceful, my friend. I have painted over my own work, but never anyone else’s…even that I find amusing. I love language, spelling, grammar, communication, but, perhaps especially, “playing” with words and phrases. It is for this reason that I find this canvas enchanting. But, in all seriousness, I love your advice! Marilyn is delighted–and that’s the frosting for this cake!!

Oh, she’s quite wonderful with her curls (curlers) Clever you to make such a great present out of it.
    Happy Days. xo
