Last Friday the Superhero and I snuck off for a two day jaunt to Western Massachusetts. While we had fun I managed not to take my usual 200 photos but really only a few in Shelburne Falls, a quaint village with a fantastic organic market, McKuskers. May I say sublime avocado and sprout sandwich! The town is on a river and has glacial potholes and a lovely falls, the Salmon Falls. It is also home to artist’s galleries, artist’s cooperatives, and the famous Bridge of Flowers. Everything was in full bloom and the dahlias were spectacular and really, the size of my head. Here are a few shots so you can see what I mean. My favorite was the white bloom with an egg yolk yellow center and the faintest lilac on the tips of the petals. But really when you see a six inch flower head, well, nature never fails to amaze. And the bees, all manner of species were happily sipping nectar and buzzing and flitting from bloom to bloom. Can you say honey bar?
