After last weeks stressful week it was wonderful to hear from everyone who commented on my Friday Affirmations which I linked up to Paint Party Friday.  So many of you knew that feeling of being overwhelmed so well and resonated with exactly how I was feeling.  I felt so much a part of a larger community and the belief that we are all so connected to each other was reinforced again and again with each of your words.  I also felt so proud to be part of a community of artists with such awareness, such empathy for each other and the willingness to connect and say something meaningful.  My heartfelt thanks because I felt that community and was embraced by it…it made me feel full, cup running over and shooed the gremlins of doubt out the door…so a bit of community painted.

communionNot sure who the horned dude is but he makes me think of an owl….wisdom personified.

Loving the colors and organic shapes I see here. I’m seeing a rooster — one of my favorite animal metaphors for courage, spunk and self-confidence (think Peter Pan — I’ve gotta crow!). So happy to be part of your community. xo

It really does look like an owl, an old and wise one. I am getting a serious vibe here despite the light and airy colour palette.
I love the shape of the two people together as one. Is there a hand print in there?

This community is great, isn’t it!
I love the layers of paper and you always put together the greatest colors. Even when you have a rough week the cheerfulness within you always comes through.

Corrine–I have been thinking of you and Karen and the people in the lovely city of Boston non-stop. Hope the healing has begun. Love your work as usual. xo

Definitely a rooster…the colours and layering are great.

I find each of your paintings has a distinctive “surface” element, Corrine. Sometimes, it’s about the texture; other times, the content; still other time, maybe the message. Then, again, it might be like today when, for me, it’s all about the color. Before allowing me to take in any other element, the color has grabbed me. I immediately feel relaxed, at ease, even with a sense of contentment. The rest is all frosting on this beautiful cake!

Community no matter where it comes from…at home or online…is something I never want to take for granted.

I see a mountain goat in this piece…strong and climbing upward.

I hope you are all breathing a little easier up there. Was quite a week. This piece conveys so much. I see support and interconnectedness and, yes, the horned dude definitely looks wise. Take care, my friend.

I see the rooster too, looking at a beautiful candle light, seeing the way and the direction perfectly, even though we may not always see it so clearly, we have each other. You epitomize gut art Corrine!

It reallly is a small world. I’m glad to know you felt the support of the community. Also glad to see your muse got you painting in the middle of the night… can’t wait to see what that became!

    I like this.
Community is something that definitely helps.
We sometimes have to be our own community, though.
    You rock. Don’t forget it!
