Chocolate Chip Blueberry Pancakes

After a weekend of cooking too many
chocolate chip blueberry pancakes,
fruit smoothies, brownies and chocolate cake.
Yes brownies and chocolate cake and don’t forget
ice cream today. Three pounds of turkey meatloaf
full of hidden vegetables and sweet potatoes
(we had to have something healthy in there),
the giggling, cell phone texting, lego building
grandchildren have departed for home in
Connecticut.

Four generations in all visiting, eating,
sleeping in large huddles of air mattresses
everywhere, we have survived tired and
more tired. Even the dogs have given up
the ghost and retired for the night.

Some fun in the studio was just what I
needed to perk me up.  Two recycled
envelopes, two collages to make up
for my lack of anything but cooking
yesterday. Happy colors for a happy
Sunday.

Handle with care indeed.
