Chillin Flowers and the Vintage Bazaar Update

Finally getting my head back on straight after a couple days recoup(well cleaning the office and studio really) and realized in all that arting for the VB(Vintage Bazaar) I had not touched my art journal in ages, it was crying tears of joy when I cracked it open.  Wanted to simple chill today so I got out crayons, aquarelles, distress stains and the web stencil designed by Mary Beth Shaw aka THE StencilGirl.  Random crayoning these silly, simple flowers, pouncing distress stain through the stencil and filling it all in with some water crayon goodness…..

See the web stencil in blue and green below

Even with the lazy daubing of the distress stain, the stencil held most of the edge

The VB was everything and nothing I expected.  The tent went up easily and we tweaked a few things in the visual display, but all in all I was really happy with how it came out.  Some of you on facebook have already seen this…

Sparkle Days Studio booth

It was hot hot hot hot and I felt really lucky to sell 8 pieces of work and some cards…I met some amazing people, both visitors to the booth and vendors who were all around me and I learned so much.  Some of the gals readily shared ideas and what other shows to look at.  One gal, Pam LeBlanc was two doors down and had the most amazing re-purposed bags.  She has been doing 25 shows a year for over 20 years.  She was a complete doll and you should check out her amazing work….she gave me so many suggestions of what shows to look at that it was incredible.  I don’t have too many photos because I stood in the booth all day for two days and only briefly got around once.  Cari Cucksey from Cash and Cari was there with a huge booth like a circus tent but it was so hot folks just were not buying…..some people did okay but most went home disappointed so again, I feel REALLY lucky.  Plus I had great help, here is my best bud(no blog) Eileen who spent the whole day Saturday by my side.  I love this gal…..

Did I say I love this gal!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry you didn’t sell everything in your booth after all that hard work you put into getting ready. It certainly looked fantastic and inviting! Glad you had a good time and kudos to your friend for hanging with you, that must have helped make the time pass more quickly. Would you do it again at this venue?
