Here comes the sun as George Harrison sang…I made this sweet 6″ sun on a downpour of a day last week. It will eventually be part of something larger, but for now it makes me happy just having on my sewing table. Don’t you love that bright batik! A tiny project it’s true but more […]
A sunny aspect needed during these darkest months. A use it up, de-stash, hand stitch, knotted project to brighten even the dullest of days. A heartfelt homage to sunnier days. A splash of turquoise seas and pinks and Spring-like greens. What inspires your creative mojo today?
I haven’t played in the studio with paints for a while. As a de-stressed, printing with my new Gel Press plates always melts the tension. I did a bit of fabric which is drying and so painted background papers using the super size 12×14″ plate. Something so satisfying about slapping it down on to whatever […]
WIP on my big head. Scaled oversize from the human form. Chop saw work and wood next…. Still having a romance with the guy behind the head. Got to love the man that poses with your creations. Adoring gesso and chalk paint and coffee as paint mediums. Found object eyes spoke to me. More next […]
Summer days are here and living in coastal Maine, sea and sand are the natural influence. I found this bandana like fabric that inspired me to carry the coastal theme through this home decor project. I drew a free form starfish shape and stuffed it with a lavender bag and poly filling. The focal point […]
I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a while. No posts, no visits to friends, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. One more day and I can slow it down a bit. With a new pup in the house and an art sale event I am coordinating in […]
Pops of color appearing everywhere are infusing my work. Popsicles and flip flops, beach pails and sand towels, flowers and gardens. Stitching Drawing and painting Pops of color everywhere.
The muse has infused me lately. Going in whatever direction calls me with new ideas. Must be Spring’s re-birth. The sap is rising and the mind is whirring and the fingers are stitching… Little Blue Heart art doll soft sculpture with a painted face. Dream pocket pillow holds glasses a pen and even your phone […]
Tattered and worn the dancer still dances. A totally different doll from me. Sometimes the romantic has to shine. Vintage fabrics, wool felt, wire and tea dyed lace, antique bells. Mostly hand stitched. She still dances to her own tune.
Happy cloud. That’s what the vintage sack cloth inspired in me so I used it to stitch a new softie garland. Organic shapes, bright, whimsical cottons, hemp cording and tiny stacks of vintage buttons to finish it off. Now in my etsy. Happy cloud, happy day.
