Burying Layer One…the Golden Temple

January’s days bring
February’s collages.

I pondered building a
layered history for 2010
with my 365/collage journal.

Today I formulated February’s
plan after being woken in
the middle of the night with
the flash of just how I might
accomplish this.

January’s collages will be
buried, hidden, torn, manipulated
and used again with added elements
to create February’s days.

The original inspiration for 1/1/2010 collage
came from a hand written New Year’s note
from my friend Monika
who made this wonderful film
and who just came back from a
six week trip to India, where she
once lived for a time. The note was
written on some gold and red paper,
probably from a seaweed wrapper,
but it made me think of India when
I got it and we recently talked about
palaces and temples she saw during
her visit and this is how the collage
evolved.

Hence, the golden temple…

I think this is a great idea– using previous collages to build on the next ones– and love how the collage here evolved.
