As We Close…

As we close in on the end
of 2009, this week has been
one of reflection, relaxation
and rest.

It is only fitting the year
leaves us here in New England
on a quiet and snowy note.

Tonight we celebrate this
transition with dear friends
with whom we will share
a meal, and some laughs
and deep conversation about
weaving, art, zen bicycling
and music.

I am thankful for all the
things that have transpired this
year: a continuously loving
and supportive family,
meeting new friends in person
and in the virtual world,
energy from the universe
that pushes me further along
my path, and those losses, like
the passing of David’s 97 year old
mother and losing our dear Blossom.

There is balance, and that is all we
can ask for on this journey.

I leave you in 2009 with some
tracks in the snow so we know
where we are going, a view of my
frozen world, and the flower of
new beginnings, for the year, the
decade, this life.
