Art Journal — Tiny Diamonds

Today was an unsorted day.  The weather was dismal, cold and damp, I couldn’t get my engine going…  I did a few things productive in the office, did a bit of book sorting from the shelves but really had no direction.  Walked dogs, exercised, and waited for a better mood, which did not arrive until I chatted with a close friend from far away and dove into the journal.. I had filled this page with posca marker whorls, then drew in a big heart hoping to find it.  Use pattern tissue, magazine images, and painted bits to collage over and the top of the magazine bottle with the two blooms begged to be enlarged.  I found the words tiny diamonds and realized the days was about finding tiny things that would cheer me up.  “Honey for sale” well some sweetness for sure, I do love my sweetness.  Smooshing of gesso and pops of yellow and before long the tiny diamonds took over and my unsorted organizied itself for me.  What tiny diamonds did you find in your day?  I will look for more tomorrow.

This journal page is colorful, bright, pretty, and made me smile. I love how you can find so much in so little. Tiny diamonds turned into an entire journal page of beauty. ♥

Live your “still life” in the midst of your chaotic life at the moment, Corrine. Sweet bits of orange had me hooked from the get-go! This shot up immediately to the top of my “favorites” list! Mwah! K

Oh my – this is SO pretty. I love your ‘tiny diamonds’ thoughts – I didn’t find any today but I’m about over this cold and tired of laying around so I’m going diamond mining tomorrow. 🙂 I love the way the vase developed …. great work!

Love this page! So cheery – your tiny diamonds! Love that – and, yes, that is how we need to treat each day; finding those tiny diamonds that brighten our moments. Today is dark, damp, cold, and rainy. My tiny diamonds, today, will be with my grand children and appreciating that rain is not as destructive as tornadoes. My heart goes out to people in the South.

Thanks for a bright start to my day! Love ya – M

It looks like you were able to get into a good creative groove here, no matter how little time you had. I love the colors. I too was at odds yesterday, trying to figure out what best to do and I pulled a few weeds and made some ATC’s. Hope you get some sun today.

I love everything about this page, including the ‘waiting for a better mood’ part. Seriously, Corrine, the colors are awesome and my eye was drawn around the whole page by your gorgeous composition. Pinning so I can enjoy it again down the road.
