Art Journal — make a beautiful mess

Spring mess making going on all weekend.  Swapping out spring clothes for winter ones. Packing up heavy quilts and blankets and pulling out sunny, floral sheets. Bagging up things for the Salvation Army.

Clearing out the duck yard from winter spent straw collections and covering all the remaining compost with old straw for new garden beds.

Recycling and cleaning out the basement with the Superhero and filling the truck to go to recycling and the transfer station.

Sitting in the sun with some coffee and watching the rain from the windows all in the same weekend.

Walking, walking, walking dogs…

Playing with collage and markers in my journal…all in all a beautiful mess…

What was your beautiful mess making this weekend?

Sounds like you had a busy but fun time! My biggest mess was getting my shoes wet in the river, and doing some messy painting! Hugs, Valerie

I adore your colorful collage piece! It’s so happy and lively! Love the clouds with the rain drops, too! You’ve been busy this weekend but happily so 🙂 I’ve been working on little wooden messes 🙂

Well, you are just getting into everything. I love this mess, although it’s not a “mess” to me. I was able to do some art today, too. Perfect day for it.. and hold on to some of these warmer clothes.. it’s still chilly out… today anyway.

I’m exhausted already. However your idea of a mess is my idea of a happy, fun, image.

This art just makes me happy! Spring is a diva with demands all her own – making us bustle about as we do – it’s a good thing she’s good on stage

Mess indeed – ha! Looks full of sunny, gardeny goodness to me. And it sounds like a busy, productive, spring-time weekend…..we had sun and warm this weekend and it was like all the Seattle moles came out of hiding and there was much yard mowing, children screeching, window washing, car washing, etc. So fun to see life back in the neighborhood!

Drinking coffee in the sun….sounds so nice. And love the collages — the bottom one especially. My weekend mess? Still cleaning and organizing my studio….the work goes on….but it is looking better every day…..xoxo Happy Spring.

Love your “artful” garden, Corrine, with its lovely spring blooms and April rains! Both bring a freshness and the desire to clean up and make new even in our own homes. Here, I had a wonderful weekend away attending a wine tasting and art exhibit of three Cape Cod artists, a play at the Cape Cod Community College and some wonderful Scrabble time with my sister! But, glad to be home today and planning a bit of art play this afternoon!
