It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas
around here, not so much as some other folks
but the spirit is creeping in.
I have always wanted to make gift tags
and have never managed to get around
to it with all the other things required
at this time of year.
I am basically a brown paper packages
tied up in string kind of gal, although this
year it will be packages tied up in red
rosin paper. I got the tip for this from
Lyle who took a Perrella/Bagby workshop
and they used rosin paper as a substrate.
(The kind of roll you find in the home improvement
store used as underlayment for roofing -$12
for a 100 foot roll. Makes for pretty economical
I plan to stencil/stamp it but thought I should
use some pretty tags. So here is what I came
Some inexpensive student
watercolor paper. Embossed
with a pattern, sprayed with
candlelight Glimmer Mist
and punched with a Martha
holly punch. Christmas-y
paper as backing, gold leaf
pen and ribbon.
Voila super simple tags.
I then used the holly cut out
on the other die cut tag and now
I have two sets to choose from.
Twenty four went together quickly,
and I accomplished one thing toward
the holiday. Advent Day 1 done.
A gift to myself.
