52 Projects #7

Snowy day here in Maine. A good time to stay inside and finish up a day brightener.

A giant painted canvas heart 18″ wide by 28″ tall plus the hanger. for this soft sculpture, I used 7 oz. unprimed canvas and painted several layers into a free drawn heart shape. Cut, sew, and stitch on extras. In this case a piece I worked on from my stash with further stitching and paint.

More painting after it has been stitched and stuffed and the addition of a braided hanger sewn onto the back side.

I added this flower which is simply pinned on to hide any hanging hooks. She’s off to out Board of Director’s show at the gallery along with my “me doll” from last week. Fun way for me to celebrate our theme “For the Love of Art”.

Time for a coffee and a blog catch up.

Such a beautifully detailed heart, Cotrine! Yes to a perfect snow day project, too. We have finally reached 79 degrees today. I need to sit in the shade because the sun is too hot. I know you don’t want to hear that!

Oh gosh, what a large heart, even larger than my current large artwork.
It’s heart-warming (!) and I do like the flower and braid, much nicer not to see the hook.

Fabulous, it’s always over flowing with creativity this way! I love that heart, perfect for the season, your mixture of paint and stitching works beautifully!
