52 Projects #14 Worry Doll

Worry? Who me? Cloud over my head…

I started this small fellow who is a bit bigger than the the size of my hand a couple of weeks ago. He languished in a basket with some other dolls until last evening. I new he needed the bells for comic relief as his mouth is tense with worry

Then I did more hand stitch on his whole cloth body to emphasize the shapes and energetic lines. The cloud shape was stitched and sitting in the same basket.

Suddenly, as it does, everything came together and the Worry doll was born.

Kids wooden beads came from a big bag I found at my local thrift and they feel right at home with the vintage feedsack cloth of the cloud and the face.

Worry???  He will take it on for you.

Charming. I hope he is worry free now, more like a carefree doll. Funny how these bits sometime of their own will, come together to make a whole.

Love your fantastic worry doll. I’m making an anger doll from an old cushion, I will show it when it’s finished! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

I especially LOVE the beads you chose to accompany your worry doll. They are definitely worry beads. Of course, the worry doll and the cloud are perfect for each other, too. I’m really loving this series.

Ohh, Mr. Worry has too much on his mind!
But love the colors of his “suit”!

Oh my word – too fabulous!!!
That worried expression is so touching and then the bells you have added to bring a comical twist and if that were not enough, the addition of the cloud.
I absolutely adore your creative mind.
    Wishes
    Lynne

He is just charming! Great! Today I feel exactly like he does, but hopefully the sun which shines already will dispel the cloud above my head soon! Happy new week dear Corinne!

Oh poor doll having to take on someone else’s worries.
The cloud and beads are terrific and what a mouth he has.
    Love his little bells too.
